Mawlynnong

Dubbed “The Cleanest Village in Asia”, Mawlynnong is situated 90 km from the Shillong, the capital city of Meghalaya. Blessed with immense natural beauty, a visit to this village will surely leave you rejuvenated. You won’t find anything much to do here, but to enjoy the beauty of nature.

The sky view atop the highest tree will give you a bird’s eye view of the beautiful village, and the neighboring country, Bangladesh.

Umiam Lake

Located 15 kms from Shillong, the Umiam Lake is major tourist attraction and a popular destination for water sports, including kayaking, water cycling, boating, and scooting.

 

Surrounded by hills under the blue sky dappled with clouds, this majestic lake was formed by damming the Umiam River. The dam is the first hydel power project in the northeastern part of India.
